Meet the Chief Flying Instructor & Staff
Central Helicopter Training Academy is new to the flight training market but our CFI is not. Our Chief Flight Instructor has over 10 years of helicopter flight training experience in both Canada and the U.S., and holds the highest qualifications available under Transport Canada Standards. He is a Class 1 instructor, language examiner and Authorized Person under these standards.
Harald Sydness, originally from Norway, holds US, Canadian and Norwegian Commercial Licenses with over 3000 hours of helicopter flight time. Harald has done it all— from the desert and mountains of California to the Arctic of northern Canada — from the R22 to the AS 355 TwinStar.
The second member of our Flight Instructor team is Kevin Woytaz. Kevin holds both a commercial rotary and fixed wing license endorsed for instrument and night flying, with over 20 years of flying experience in aerial application, forestry, charter, aerial survey, fire fighting and Medevac across Canada. He is endorsed on R22, R44, Bell 47, 206, Schweitzer 300 and AS 350 & 355.
Collectively our CHTA instructors bring a wealth of real world flight experience to the training market. If you are training to be a commercial helicopter pilot and your goal after completion of this course is to obtain full time employment in the industry, who better to train with than instructors who have been there and know what to expect.
